Apple and Google Appstore Guidelines Training Scope:

Many crypto startups report being stonewalled, misunderstood and misinterpreted, and even after 5-10 resubmissions and multiple calls with Appstore reviewers, they often face either  rejections or completely unreasonable requests, such as having to remove their app from many countries or having to remove many transactional features.

Crypto startups have the impression that the Appstore expectations are above and beyond to what is required by local regulations. At the same time, there is a complete lack of transparency or clarity around how some companies' apps get approved while others continue getting rejected.

  • Why Apple Pay is available within the MetaMask wallet but your startup is struggling to get approved even when you are a regulated VASP?
  • Why does it appear that Apple completely ignores business models based on reverse solicitation (passive acceptance of international clients)?
  • Why some legal opinions are acceptable for Apple and others aren't?
  • How do you decide which features to keep and to remove?
  • Is it all just about forcing you into in-app purchases?

Here are some of the common mistakes crypto startups make:

  • Arguing that since country XXX does not have any specific licensing requirements, you can offer your services there.
  • Arguing that DeFi and DEX business models do not require licensing. This statement is true but it will not be helpful if you do not supplement it by justifying how specifically you app or your service is not in breach with financial regulations.
  • Trying to remove your app from some of the countries and hoping to keep a few countries that are really important to you. If you don't supplement this strategy by other arguments, you will keep losing countries.
  • Not understanding Apple expectations with respect to in-app purchases where it comes to crypto payments.
  • Providing legal opinions that don't address specific concerns or have too many disclaimers.
  • Not knowing how to explain white-label setups, inter-company arrangements or partnerships.

To answer your most common questions and give you examples of arguments and explanations that have actually worked for other crypto companies, we are offering this brand new online masterclass, that has become a total hit!
